Robert Doisneau - Le Ruban de la Mariée, 1951
Robert Doisneau, Le Ruban de la Mariée, 1951.
This is one of Robert Doisneau's best-known photographs. "The Bride's Ribbon", a black and white shot of a wedding on a Poitou country road, is above all a wonderful wedding memory and a beautiful story of friendship. Taken in 1951 just outside the village of Saint-Sauvant, the photograph has since traveled around the world, like dozens of other photos by the photographer, born one hundred and two years ago, on April 14, 1912.
