Teeth and horns are embellished with golden mud (paint made from powdered gold leaf dissolved in glue water), adding to the mask's haunting allure. The Hannya mask is an iconic representation of a vengeful spirit, consumed by jealousy and resentment. This artistic rendition features two horns on the forehead, painted with golden mud, symbolizing a woman's transformation into a demon. The mask's design strikingly contrasts sorrow in the upper half with the raging anger of the lower half, capturing the complex emotional state of the spirit.
