No reserve price! The body is narrow, long and oblate, the back of the elytra is often flat, and the whole body is black and bright. The head is front-mouthed, the back of the head is uneven and has multiple protrusions, the upper lip is prominent, there is one movable small tooth on the upper jaw, the lower lip and chin are deeply notched, and the outer jaw of the lower jaw is hook-shaped. The antennae have 10 segments, often bent rather than elbow-shaped, and have 3-6 pectinate segments at the end. Most characters are remarkable and plesiomorphic, compared to Passalidae Leach, as well as to some other Scarabaeoidea. Morphological characteristics demonstrate that the fossil species is typically « passaloid », but that it cannot belongs to Passalidae.
