"Greece" in original navy publisher's cloth with gold lettering, decorations in gold, green, and brown on the front board and spine; top edge gilt. Illustrated with seventy-four watercolor painting plates with speaking tissue guards by John Fulleylove and with a fold-out map bound in the rear in fine comndition. A beautiful illustrated history of ancient Greece, with excerpts from its mythology. The author incorporated writings from Pausanias, Hesiod, and the classical scholars Grote and Frazer. Very RARE in this binding. Inside very good clean and complete condition. Externally light wear around edges and corners, some shelfwear, wear head of spine. Front board very good-see photos as part of description. Uncommon.
