Chinese Imari porcelain plate –China- Yongzheng period
On offer is a Chinese porcelain plate with a detailed décor in the Imari pattern, consisting of various flowers and plants with a symbolic meaning in China. These are, for example, the chrysanthemum, peony and bamboo, as can be seen on this plate. The chrysanthemum is a symbol of longevity and health. Bamboo symbolizes honesty, humility and loyalty. It bends during the storm but does not break! Peony symbolizes wealth and prosperity. A lot of good wishes on one plate! Nice dark-brown glazed rim (jia mangkou). Provenance: Ye Hua Chinese Art.
Date: Yongzheng period 1723-1735.
