An elegant Near Eastern-Western Asiatic gold pendant modelled in the shape of a leaf with four sides. A loop sits at the top for suspension. Many grand civilisations inhabited the area of Western Asia in Antiquity whose wealth and prosperity can be witnessed through the highly sophisticated precious metal jewellery they left behind. Gold would have been hammered down to a thin layer and manipulated into different shapes. Gold necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets would have been worn in everyday life but also buried with the deceased.
