Rabelo is a limited release on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of Stokerij De Molenberg. Rabelo cargo boats were used for centuries to transport port wine barrels from the Douro Valley to the wineries in Porto. The literal meaning of Rabelo is 'little tail', a reference to the rudder stick at the back of the boat that makes navigation possible. After a basic maturation of 36 months in Bourbon barrels, this edition was finished for 28 months in white port barrels. The underlying notes of vanilla, oak and caramel are beautifully complemented by fruity, slightly spicy aromas and enriched with a soft, warm sweetness that lingers for a long time. Bajan is a limited release on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of Stokerij De Molenberg. Bajan is the Creole language spoken on the Caribbean island of Barbados, known for its sun-drenched beaches, vast sugar cane plantations and rum production. Based on their distinct flavor profile, we selected 2 different types of rum barrels for this edition. A maturation of more than 5 years in the oldest barrels provides full-bodied, soft notes of raisins and honey. The younger rum barrels from Barbados were mixed with this and bring a refreshing mix of spicy notes. This results in a beautifully balanced whiskey with a distinctly soft taste, rounded off with a surprising tropical touch. Folle Blanche is a limited release on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of Stokerij De Molenberg. Folle Blanche is a French white grape variety from which cognac is made. The high acidity of this grape is reflected in distillates in the refined, perfumed aromas. This whiskey first matured in Bourbon and Anker barrels, followed by a long-term finish of three years in cognac barrels. They release full-bodied notes of wood and vanilla during ripening. In the nose you will recognize surprisingly floral and fruity notes, rounded off with a finale of honey and leather.
