George Nicholson's 'Illustrated Dictionary of Gardening'. George Nicholson was a noted English botanist and horticulturist, and one of the sixty recipients of the 'Victoria Medal of Honour' by the Royal Horticultural Society in 1897 for his extensive contributions to horticulture.
This set is collated with chromolithograph plates and hundreds of in-text illustrations.
Condition:
In a uniform hardcover cloth binding with gilt titles to the front and spine.
Volume 1, 544 pages / Volume 2, 544 pages/ Volume 3, 537 pages.
Each book has rubbed corners and wear to the top and bottom ends of the spines.
Cover, joints and spine are rubbed & fade, scattered spotting.
Internally, generally firmly bound.
Pages age toned to edges.
Offsetting to endpapers. scattered spotting.
Dimension: 26.0 x 21.0 cm.
