Fascinating history to this vintage brass Sanctuary Bell by Peerage Brass Co. Of England in 1947 (stamped on bottom of ringer). Measures: 9 cm tall and 8 cm diameter Weight: 500 grs Engraved on the bell are the Latin symbols of Angus, Pelicanus, Leo, and Aqvila. It is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina! Sanctus bells are used in the Christian mass in both the Anglican and Roman Catholic tradition. Sanctus means Holy in Latin. "Made in England" inscription on the inside and the "Peerage Brass CO" brand on the pendulum.
