Antique Push Dagger - Katar - India - 19th Century
The katar is a push dagger from India, and the special weapon of the Rajput warriors. It's recognizable by its characteristic H-shaped grip and as a highly effective fist blade, capable of piercing chainmail. It was also very useful in deflecting melee attacks.
This 19th century katar is completely authentic, silver-plated (save for the blade), and decorated with motifs on the sides. The blade has a weighted, dull tip, as commonly seen in early katar.
In very good condition, uncleaned and with the original patina.
Total length: 37.5 cm
Width of the grip: 8.5 cm
