Ivory netsuke representing a divine couple signed with red seal - Japan - 19th/ early 20th century
Very beautiful carved ivory netsuke depicting a drinking god being served by a goddess. Red seal signature. Magnificent, very expressive sculpture and very fine work. In very good overall condition with a beautiful patina. Note that there is a small chip on the right foot of the man, perhaps an original break.
Measurements: cm in height
– Ivory specimen, in compliance with Regulation EC 338-97 art. 2.w.mc of 9 December 1996. From before 1 June 1947. The seller guarantees that this object is made of old ivory, altered before 1947 and may be (re)sold in accordance with the provisions of CITES. The seller will provide a signed document describing these details to the buyer.
