Rosenthal coffee set, model number 2000 known under the name Form 2000, designed by Richard S. Latham/Raymond Loewy at the beginning of the 1950s. The decor is called ‘Gerste Gold’. Form 2000 consists of 365 different decors it is said, one for each day of the year. The set provided a substantial contribution to the turnover and profit of the firm Rosenthal during the 1950s. The set consists of the following pieces: - Lidded coffee can. - Milk can. - Lidded sugar pot. - Eleven cups and saucers. - Twelve cake dishes. The set is in excellent condition. First choice porcelain. See photos. Richard S. Latham was born in 1920 in Kansas City. He passed away in 1991. Latham was a student with Mies van der Rohe and is considered to be among the most important American designers of his time. He worked for a long time for the design agency of Raymond Loewy and developed Form 2000 together with Loewy. It meant the start of the Rosenthal Studio-line. Form 2000 quickly got the label of ‘classic tableware set of the 20th century’.
