The original bayonet SIG 57 was used with the 7.5 mm Sturmgewehr 57 (Stgw 57 assault rifle), made by the firm Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft (S.I.G.). The SIG57 bayonets were made by two manufacturers (Victorinox and Wenger), and are marked with the V of Victorinox or the W of Wenger & Co.
