This Denon PMA 501 amplifier from 1978 is a unique amplifier with high-end qualities and it has a great sound thanks to the heavy design and phono cross talk function (PCC) With two heavy transformers, two cooling units and four capacitors this amp can handle a lot of dynamics. That can be heard: the sound is sparkling with a lot of dynamics and spread stereo image. Such amplifiers are not being made anymore. This Denon quality amplifier is a heavy one with 14 kg. The power is more than sufficient thanks to the double transformer, cooling units and 4 capacitors. This amp has the Cross Talk (PCC) developed by Denon. This means there is fine tuning for phono display. The original Denon testing record is included. The PCC control was also issued as a single device by Denon in the late 1970s. In this PMA 501 amplifier the PCC control has been integrated. The manual for both PCC and the regular manual as well as the original warranty from 1978 are included. The speaker connections have been modified by the first owner: there has been created a new input for 2 speakers with banana plugs on the back professionally. The original speaker inputs and also pre-out outputs have been disabled. The circuit for speakers has thus been shortened. The amplifier has been professionally serviced recently, at which time all potentiometers have been cleaned and the lighting has been replaced. The volume meter has a slight non-disturbing crack, because this triple quality potentiometer couldn’t be cleaned completely. The technical quality of this amplifier is very fine.
