Beautiful sculpture of a naked young woman representing Andromeda with a gold-coloured drapery. It is made after the example of the Andromeda of Joseph Félon (1818-1896). The sculpture is signed with GvP (Gebroeders van Paridon), J. Félon and number 541 and has a Paridur sticker on the bottom. After 1920 the Paridon Brothers primarily made Christian religious sculptures and stopped making classic and modern art. The sculpture has beautiful lines and perfect classical proportions and is created in a way that the offensive parts aren’t visible. It is very detailed and anatomically very well executed. It has a very beautiful green colour with gold-coloured accents. The green was used to give the bronze a patinated look. The sculpture is made from Paridur, a composite consisting of plaster with synthetic resins Measurements: 40 cm high - diameter 16 cm 4000 grams This kind of 100 year old sculptures in such a good condition are a rarity because of the fragility of the material (composite with plaster). A true classic jewel that will fit in any home décor due to its colour and proportions.
