Belle Epoque à St. Ghislain wall clock. Mechanical - Eight-day movement - Half-hourly striking mechanism with bronze bell. A clock which still looks very nice, handmade in the Netherlands, with a high-quality German movement, Text on the dial: BELLE EPOQUE à St GHISLAIN. The clock has an oval enamel dial with floral figures and a brass (pearl) edge around it. The lead-filled brass weights are handmade. (Yellow and red copper). Lovely copper pendulum with a round enamel decorative plate. The pendulum is suspended from a metal centre piece inside the clock. Needless to say, it will be disassembled for shipping. Movement works very well. The movement can easily be reached by means of the two closable metal doors on either side of the clock. Bell strikes a bronze bell, one time every half hour and the number of hours every full hour. The entire piece is still in beautiful condition. There are two metal pins with screw thread in the back plate, which allow you to properly level the clock when it is mounted on the wall. The measurements are: Dial: 26 cm wide. Total height, including bell and weights, in the highest position: Approx. 57 cm. The weights are pulled up using chains, which keep the clock running just fine. In the pulled-up position (as seen in the photos), the chains are approx. 162 cm long, hanging down. Total weight: approx. 6 kg. This lot is will be sent by registered and insured post.
