Henkes Grafische Bedrijven N.V., 1967 - 20 prints in 2 suites and the three text sections. Printed in an edition of 600 numbered copies. The 20 prints in 2 suites and the three text booklets were published by J.H. Henkes Grafische Bedrijven N.V. in Haarlem to mark the opening of their new building on 6 January 1967. The folio-size (32 × 50 cm) and the beautiful paper of the lithographs make them perfect for framing. In good condition, corners with very slight wear, see photos. These legends, originally written in Hebrew, were rescued from oblivion by Martin Buber in the early 20th century, and sold well all over the world. Central to the narratives is the Polish rabbi Israel ben Eliezer, also referred to as Ba'al Shem Tov (the man of the good name), who - from 1739 - was the leader of the Eastern European Hasidic movement, a movement of pious Jews who put a doctrine of hope, optimism and joy above the practical implementation of the rules in the Torah. - The pictures provide a good impression and are part of the description. - Shipping via DPD.
