This Philips type 667A came on the market in 1937 and was part of the ‘New Symphonic series’ under the name ‘Berceuse’. The unit features a large speaker and is very sensitive. The price at the time was 137 Dutch guilders. The Philips 667A has 3 bands: LW, MW and SW. The unit has a weak tuning indicator, tone control, fine tuning and connections for an external pick up and extra speaker. This radio receiver unit was completely checked and, where necessary, authentically restored/repaired and in excellent, playing condition. Also the beautiful wooden casing was nicely retouched and repainted. The tube setting is: EK2, EF5, EBC3, EBL1, EM1 and AZ1. The radio plays on all bands. A fitting new cord with nostalgic cloth winding has been mounted and a new matching front cloth with gold wire. This unit naturally has signs of age and wear, but these are certainly not disturbing. The mains carrousel is 245 V / 50 Hz. A good long wire antenna is highly recommended for AM reception. The radio has the following dimensions: 495x330x262 mm. The weight is approx. 13 kg.
