石铁陨石 铁陨石 - 61,8x55,6 - 186 gm. - (1)

Pallasite Sericho meteorite - 186.1 g - S875 Main mineral / Name of the meteorite: Levyne (series of zeolites) Mineral form / Types of meteorites: Iron meteorite Dimensions (in cm): 61.8 x 55.6 mm Weight (in g): 186.1 g Origin (region/city): Kenya Origin (country): Kenya Sericho 1°5'41,16" N, 39°8.30'6" E Eastern, Kenya Classification: Pallasite Size: 61.8 x 55.6 mm, weight: 186.1 grams The surface has been polished, beautiful! Story: In 2016, two brothers went in search of their camels and found several large, dense stones to the West of the village of Habaswein and South of Sericho, Kenya. There are no rocks in this area, so they decided that they were meteors. They spent several weeks collecting with engine hoists and moving to their homes in Habaswein. Although recognized as meteorites in 2016, the masses were known by camels herders for decades. Physical characteristics: To date, the masses ranging from 45 km long from several km west of Habaswein and South of Sericho in Isiolo County. The smaller pieces were found to Habaswein, but still in the County of Isiolo. Villagers still find parts, especially on the surface. Most pieces are > 50 kg Meteorites found in superficial sample minimal erosion, with patches of fusion crust on the metal. Most stones are blocks, displaying large regmaglypts. Several specimens were found oriented on the fly, including one of 129 kg and two of 16 kg of stones. Petrography: Slices of various stones show similar ratio metal/olivine, with an average of almost 70% areal olivine and < 1% areal chromite. Slice of one 15 cm × 21 cm shows regions with olivine ~ 95% areal. Olivine grains are largely rounded, less commonly defined, green to orange gem. The grains are typically 0.5 to 1 cm, although some go up to 4 cm A slice shows a 5 cm cruciform-shaped chromite. The metal is dominated by kamacite flanks around olivine, with pockets of dark engraved plessite. Rare metal-rich regions show well-developed Widmanstätten pattern. Troilite and schreibersite accessories. They have been seen without the large metal veins or the metal masses. Geochemistry: (L. Garvie, A. Wittmann, D. Schrader, ASU) Olivine Fa12.3±0.1, FeO/MnO=57.4±5.4, Cr2O3=0.03±0.01, n=15; kamacite Ni=7.1±0.6 wt%, Co=0.81±0.02 wt%, P=0.06±0.02 wt%, n=17; and schreibersite (Fe1.51Ni1.45Co0.01) P, n=3 Certificate shipping with online tracking number
