Opium pipe from the Lisu hill tribe from Thailand with an elephant.
The Lisu tribe is a colourful ethnic Tibeto-Burman tribe, living in mountainous regions of Burma (Myanmar), Southwest China, Thailand, and the Indian State of Arunachal Pradesh. Only 21,000 Lisu live in the provinces of Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Sorn and Chiang Rai.
The Opium pipe is 28 cm long and in good condition.
Includes nice details in the fine metal work. Objects with such detail and craftsmanship have no longer been made for decades.
It is in a very good and virtually undamaged condition. The photos show the gorgeous condition of the piece.
