Sikhote-Alin 铁陨石 - 83.3 g

On 12th February 1947 an asteroid of metallic nature went through the Earth's atmosphere, creating the largest rain of meteorites known in recent decades. Sikhote-Alin meteorites are considered the ‘Iron Maiden’, since they tend to be pieces of great beauty, full of regmaglypts, or flow lines. Traces of this meteorite falling tend to be very beautiful, and they look like marks that fingers would have left in a block of clay by pressing it. The flow lines, on the other hand, are a kind of fine metal ‘wires’ visible in some areas, as a result of the metal melted during the entry of the meteorite through the atmosphere of our planet. One person who witnessed this fall was the Soviet painter artist P. I. Medvedev, who was sitting at his window starting a sketch when a fire ball appeared, so he immediately began to draw what he saw. This painting was used in commemorative stamps of the fall of the famous meteorite Sikhote-Alin. A great specimen to add to your collection. We are IMCA (International Meteorites Collectors Association) members, with number #7412. We guarantee the authenticity of all our meteorites. Purchase with warranty. With certificate.
