Seiko - 6139 7080 - 男士 - 1970-1979
Seiko model 6139 7080, hexagonal case, first automatic chronograph movement in the world (May 1969, at the same time as the Zenith El Primero and the Chronomatic series by Heuer). This example is from November 1974. Very good condition for its age (a few numbers on the 30 minute counter are faded, the fluorescent coating of some of the markers isn't in perfect condition and the chronograph seconds hand doesn't reset exactly on 12 - see photos, which are integral to the description). It keeps time very well, the push buttons aren't stiff, the chronograph works and resets correctly, as does the date and date set, which is made with an unusual mechanism; by pushing the crown gently the number changes, push harder and the day of the week changes. This version is unusual in that it shows the day of the week in English and Arabic. It comes with the original Seiko, steel bracelet (circumference approx. 18.5 cm) and Seiko box (original but probably not from the period of the watch).
