Gispen piano lamp. Rare! No longer in production! Model: Giso 404 Piano lamp with a round base. A rectangular block is attached to the round base, affixed to which is an arm with a cylindrical light fixture. A nickel ball has been attached to the arm as a counterweight. The lamp needs to be placed on the front of the piano, where it will illuminate the music sheet with a light tube (25 W). The light tube can be placed invisibly in the reflector. J.J.P. Oud designed a piano lamp in 1927, which he gifted as a wedding present to his friend, ceramist Harm Kamerlingh Onnes. Oud let the company Gispen produce his lamp design. Since none of the design/reconstruction drawings have been preserved, W.H. Gispen's part can not be reconstructed. Gispen and Oud might have changed their minds on the construction of the lamp in favour of serial production. In 1928, the piano lamp was included into the standard collection of the Gispen company as Giso no. 404. The lamp underwent small changed in 1936 and 1939 and in those years also received a different number: Giso no. 5011 in 1936 and Giso no. 5201 in 1939.Gi Giso remake.
