Victorian water filter made of stoneware, with two handles in the shape of lion masks, cream glazed.
Consists of two compartments, each with a filter made of stoneware. Was filled with charcoal. You pour water into it, which is purified by the charcoal. The tap at the bottom is where the clean water comes out of.
Unfortunately only the pot of the water filter was preserved but it can still be used as decoration.
On the front there are texts in three medallions in relief:
'By her Majesty’s Royal letters patent
G. Cheavins
Improved patent
Gold medal self cleaning
Rapid waterfilter
Boston England
New patent
Removable plate'
The water filter has a diameter of 24.5 cm and a height of 40 cm.
