Wijsmuller: In 1883 he won his first silver medal at an exhibition in Amsterdam. He could then take lessons at the evening academy in Amsterdam and at Felix Merites. In the beginning he made many Amsterdam cityscapes and later, related to the Hague School, he made many nature scenes and landscapes at Kortenhoef and Noorden, among others. During the rest of his life he won many prizes and works by him were purchased by Museums.
