This one was blessed by Pope Innocent XII in 1700, year of the Jubilee, by submerging it in holy water, Chrism and Balsam. Agni Dei are among the most powerful sacramental items of the Catholic Church. The practice of blessing Agni Dei has fallen into disuse after Paul VI.
