Military bugle of the Canadian Ontario Regiment Fidelis and Paratus In good condition and well functioning. The bugle still has the authentic patina and features a brass finish with the 'Black Cat' emblem of the Ontario Regiment also called 'Ontarios', 'Black Cats' or 'ONT R' (pronounced "ON-tar"), and with the original braided cord. There is only 1 original bugle from the early 20th century (WW1) and belonged to the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, the regiment Black Cat with the motto Fidelis et Palatos (Loyal and Willing) This bugle is kept at the RCAC Museum in Oshawa in Canada The regiment fought during the First World War in Ypres Passchendaele, the Somme and Arras Canada 1871-1918 The bugle is complete and intact: length 28 cm -diameter 9 cm - 500 gr. The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) is a recce regiment of the first reserve under the leadership of the land army. It is part of the 33rd Brigade of Canada and is located in Oshawa, Ontario. Founded on September 14 1866. The 116th Battalion (Ontario County), CEF was authorised on December 22, 1915 and went to Great Britain on July 24, 1916. From October to December 1916 it provided reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field and on February 11 1917 it stepped out in France, where it fought until the end of the war with the 9th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Division in France and Flanders. The battalion was dissolved on August 30, 1920. This is not the rare bugle of 1866 from the museum, but it is a replica from 1952
