This nice looking 19th century sword is made in a typical, African medieval-style and clearly has the characteristic elements that can be found in the countries like Sudan, Chad and Eritrea. The cross shaped hilt has a leather covered grip and pommel. The blade is double-edged and has double marks (half-moon) on both sides. The scabbard is made of decorated leather and still has its original hanging belts (fragile). This type of sword is sometimes also connected to the Tuareg people.
