This large and beautifully sculpted Rosewood Shou Xing. Shou Xing is a Taoist deity that represents a long life and is part of Fu Lu Shou. It is recognised by his large forehead, which represents wisdom and his extra long beard, which literally indicates a long life. Shao Xing is always depicted with a long staff. The eyes and teeth are made of porcelain. Measurements: 37 cm or 14.56 inches long and heavy! It is finely carved and in good condition, except for a crack near the neck and the bottom due to age.
