An attractive Japanese music box on legs. The ballerina moves around with a magnet on the glass mirror when the music box is opened. Mechanically driven music (Swan Lake) with fixed winder-key at the bottom. When closed, the music stops. The mechanism is still in very good condition. The 11 mirrors placed in a semi-circle enable one to view the ballerina from all sides. Overall in good condition (Please see the photos.) Has 3 compartments, lined with red fabric, for jewellery or rings. The hand-painted pictures show a Japanese tree in blossom with a peacock done in gold, orange, red, white and green paint on a black background. The keyhole is in the shape of Mount Fuji. Front clasp with key (which is rather stiff) is lockable. This is a most decorative object for your dressing table. Measurements are: 18 cm x 10 cm x 13 cm.
