Antique decorative sewing machine, circa 1870. Serial number: 92949448 In many parts of the machine, part of this serial number is etched. This sewing machine, on a violin basis, can be found in several museums in the Netherlands. On the coat of arms in the middle of the front and the back, there are two lions framing a crowned weapon. (photo 11/16 ) The condition of the sewing machine is good. The machine is oiled, clean and sounds smooth. The spring (photo 34), for transporting, is not original and needs to be replaced so that this machine can sew really large and small stitches. For a connoisseur, that must be easy to do. The machine has a porcelain handle. The bobbin mechanism can be adjusted and works well. The wheel can be detached in order to spool. A museum-worthy machine, a real asset to the collector.
