1960s, Belgium S.A. Boulanger Sputnik lamp This original Sputnik lamp was produced by S.A. Boulanger. Its design first appeared in the late 1950s as a representative of the Spade Age era. In this period, space travel was at the centre of attention and many designers were inspired to make 'Space-like' and 'Sputnik' designs. The lamp has no less than 12 light sources, which ensure a beautiful and uniform distribution of light, and another 13 separate spheres. The light bulbs are not included. S.A. Boulanger is known for the production of many iconic lamps, designed by the Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari.
