Large duplex globe with illumination by Columbus Paul Oestergraad on wooden base. When the globe is lit it gives a very atmospheric light. The Globe is from circa 1969, which can be seen by the names Mauritius and Oman, namely up to 1968: Mauritius independent of UK (on the globe Mauritius is depicted as an independent state). 1970: Maskat & Oman changed to Oman, (on the globe is still Maskat & Oman, Maskat is the capital of Oman). With stamp: “Columbus Aard Globe, Duplex, Politiek en natuurkundig, Columbus Verlag, Paul Oestergard Berlin & Stuttgart”. Dimensions: Height approx. 44 cm Diameter approx. 33 cm Diameter of foot approx. 21 cm. Weight: approx. 1.2 kg. The globe is in a good condition, it does have a small, unobtrusive, dent.
