In a very good condition and without defects, a beautiful pottery ginger pot or lidded pot of Royal Tichelaar Makkum, The Netherlands. Polychrome floral decoration and hand painted and marked at the bottom with number 899, and probably painted and signed by ceramist Jetze Visser. Once bought from Focke & Meltzer in the Hoogstraat in The Hague, which has been at this address from 1919 to 2011. Tichelaar is renowned for its extensive assortment of decorative tiles and earthenware, made using the locally excavated yellow clay. These were handmade and hand painted piece by piece in the traditional way. Dimensions: Height 26 cm x diameter 20 cm. Weight: Approximately 1.3 kg. None, cracks, fleabites or chips.
