The 4WD Delta Yeti is an off-road vehicle built by “Delta Veicoli Speciali” of Turin in roughly 40 units between 1968 and 1972. The frame number is 0330. The idea was by the same designer who worked on the Ferves Ranger. This off-road vehicle mounts a Fiat 850 engine, the first off-road vehicle equipped with four-wheel drive and steering built in Italy produced for the public market. The positive and negative 4-steering-wheel system allows to obtain an excellent steering radius. Gearbox heights, overhangs and ratios are designed to be optimal on rocky and muddy terrains, steep climbs up to 45 degrees and side slopes up to 39 degrees, while maintaining a brilliant engine even for road use with a 100 km/h declared speed. 4 seats, open body, knock-down windshield, removable doors. The structure consists of a galvanized steel boxed frame and riveted aluminium panels. This vehicle was regularly approved for circulation in 1972 and has number plates and a registration book in order reporting "Delta Yeti". Vintage black tyres and booklet registration document in order and ready for change of ownership. The tyres and rims are new, mounted in November 2019. The engine works but the electrical system, brakes and other parts are to be restored because the car has long remained unused in a mountain house. All the instruments are original including the rare DELTA-marked counter; the overall structure is very solid with a nice patina of the time. A video of the running engine is available. The 4WD steering system has been checked and works well. It is a very rare vehicle by the same designer of the Ferves Ranger and is very difficult to find especially with original and regular documents and registration booklet (see photo).
