Exceptional pair of antique, Chinese silverware birds (pheasant and magpie). Sterling (925) silver, gilded and polychrome enamelled. Filigree silver workmanship composed of different techniques: reticular, 'anseato' and leaf. The structure features extravagant decoration in polychrome enamels with three techniques: cloisonné, repoussé and transparent basse-taille which follows the dense overlapping of the different plumage. 'Silver 925' hallmark underneath the feet. Condition: Good condition with lovely age-related patina. The pheasant is in perfect condition! The magpie has some damage to the crest and a claw of the right foot (see the photos).
