He is considered by some as one of the greatest F 1 drivers of all time. Lauda was seriously injured in a crash at the 1976 GP at the Nürburgring, during which his Ferrari burst into flames and he came close to death after inhaling hot toxic fumes and suffering severe burns. However, he survived, and recovered enough to race again just six weeks later at the Italian Grand Prix. Here we offer a fantastic vintage 1970's Bell Star Niki Lauda helmet, this is an exact copy of the helmet which Niki used when he drove the Iconic Ferrari team. The helmet is fully original including the paint. The inside lining and foam are also in very good condition considering it's age, its's almost 50 years old. This helmet is an original period vintage Bell Star made as an exact copy as the helmet Niki used in the mid seventies, on the inside are all the original stickers/labels (SHCA, size and warning labels).
