Very nice old bottle of Claquesin, a french liqueur based on pine extract and spices, very popular in the beginning of 20th century, as apetizer / apéritif, chilled pure or with water, also recommended for grogs. Claquesin was medalist at the 1900 World exhibition in Paris, and production peaked in the 1920's-1930's period. Production ceased in 1942 and did not resume until after the war. Clacquesin is a maceration of Norway pine resin / tarr in alcohol, added caramel and spices, cinnamon and clove.
