Fiat Abarth 1000 TC 'Tribute' (replica) - 1968.
This 1968 Fiat Abarth 1000 TC 'Tribute' is a beautifully finished replica of the 600D 'Derivata' racing cars of the era, and comes in exceptional mechanical and cosmetic condition.
The first registration of the car (original Fiat 600D series) is dated 01/01/1968, the transformation was done in 2003 by specialists in the restoration of older vehicles (project carried out in Belgium).
The original Autobianchi 112 engine is a 1000cc carburettor-fed engine, delivering about 50 horsepower at 5,200 rpm, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
Apart from the engine, this car went the same way as the Abarth conversions of the time, starting with a standard Fiat 600D before being modified to "Turismo Competition 1000cc" specification.
It features four-wheel independent suspension and front disc brakes, as well as an upgraded water pump, alternator and new cooling fan to ensure optimum cooling in today's road conditions.
From an aesthetic point of view, this Fiat is also fitted with the wider Abarth 1000 TC "Corsa" style front bumper which houses the front-mounted radiator and oil cooler.
It has obviously been repainted during the conversion, and still looks great today. The mirrors incorporate an engine rev counter.
Inside, there is an Abarth steering wheel, as well as a vintage instrument cluster with Jaeger gauges. A roll bar is also fitted.
The paintwork is in very good condition, perfectly maintained and in working order.
The car still has its original chassis 600D markings, with the right Fiat build plate in the engine compartment.
The latter is clean, tidy and useful, with Abarth-specific aluminium components, and the model-specific carburettor.
Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition, with only 51,500 km driven since the total refurbishment and conversion to 1000 TC specifications, with no visible signs of corrosion.
This vehicle is declared a historic vehicle, meaning that it is no longer required to undergo an annual technical inspection like a more recent vehicle. 1968 Fiat Abarth 1000 TC 'Tribute' (replica).
