Buzan Kimura 1876-1942
A Japanese-style painter from the Meiji to early Showa periods. Born on July 3, Meiji 9 in the Ibaraki prefecture. He studied under Kawabata Gyokusho. After graduating from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts), he participated in Tenshin Okakura's new art movement, formed the Japan Art Institute in 1908, and worked to revive it in 1914. Received the third prize at the 1st Bunten in 1907 with "Abo Kouka". In his later years, he painted a lot of Buddhist paintings. He died with 67 on November 29, 1942.
His real name is Shintaro.
