Printed in italics. Wood engraved initials and spine ends. Fourth edition – the first saw the light in 1568 also in Venice, by the same printer – of one of the most important artillery treatises of the 16th century. Its influence on the art of war was very high, being used as manual for fortification and siege for many decades.
