Mid 20th century Chinese Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware teapot and tea caddy. Marked by a famous manufacturer on the bottom. Delicate floral pattern and lacquered gold. Fuzhou lacquerware began in the Southern Song Dynasty. Features of Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware: light and firm texture, simple and elegant shape, rich and colorful decoration, non-fading, strong, temperature-resistant and acid-alkali corrosion-resistant. The practice of bodiless lacquer ware is to first use soil and mortar to make an inner tube, then use the plasticity of the lacquer and the tension of the linen to alternately overlap the linen and lacquer layers. After drying, the inner tube is removed, leaving only the lacquer. It is a combination of fabric and fabric, so the body is quite light, tough, durable, and easy to shape. Teapot: H. 16.6 cm.
