Born in Showa 25 (1950), Kuze Muneharu apprenticed under his father, the original Muneharu, from Showa 36 (1961) and succeeded the name as the second-generation Muneharu in Showa 50 (1975). He has received accolades at the Nihon Geijutsu Exhibition and the Lacquerware Cooperative Chairman's Award, and continues to this day as a specialist lacquerer for tea ceremony utensils.
