This is a water basin crafted by Ichinose Soshin, a copper kettle craftsman from Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture.
Ichinose Soshin is a copper kettle craftsman in Takaoka, specializing in sand-cast copper works. He is currently the fourth generation. The name is inherited by the head of the Ichinose family, who has been engaged in metalworking in Toyama Prefecture for generations, since the establishment by the first generation as a copper caster in 1875. The current head is the fourth generation, and he serves as a member of the Toyama Prefecture Writers Association, a member of the Takaoka City Art Writers Federation, and a director of the Takaoka City Art Friends Association.
