Henri van Os-Delhez (1880-1976) - Busy street in Paris
Henri van Os-Delhez, originally Hendrik van Os, was a Dutch painter born in Amsterdam on October 24, 1878. Trained in decorative painting, his passion for the freedom of art led him to study under impressionist Arnold Marc Gorter. Gorter's influence marked a turning point in van Os-Delhez's work, reflecting vibrant colors and atmospheric effects typical of impressionism.
Renowned for his mastery of light and color, van Os-Delhez specialized in landscapes, cityscapes, and still life paintings. His pieces often captured the essence of Dutch scenery, bathed in soft sunlight, evoking tranquility and nostalgia.
A member of Amsterdam's Arti et Amicitiae artists' society, van Os-Delhez exhibited widely across the Netherlands, including in The Hague, Rotterdam, and Groningen.
