A superb tall stoneware Sumida Gawa vase, measuring 30.5cm in height and weighing 1201g, with sculpted figures to the wall, decorated in polychrome enamels. Marked in underglaze blue to a white raised reserve with maker´s mark of Inoue Ryosai, early 20th century. Condition: Overall good, chip to the tail end of the white robe of the left figure, barely noticeable. No other damages or repairs detected.
