Sasaki Shobun
1890 - 1970
Born in Kurono, Ono-cho, Ibi-gun, Gifu Prefecture, as the second son of Motozaburo Sasaki, who runs a crude drug business. His real name is Takeo. While working as a painter painting ceramics in Tajimi, he aspired to become a painter. In 1901, he entered Kawai Gyokudo as a student. In 1919, he won his first work, ``Spring Day,'' at the 9th Bunten. Since then, he has mainly been active at the Bunten and Teiten exhibitions. In 1945, he was evacuated to Agematsu-cho, Nagano City, where he has lived since then, and other than creating commissioned paintings, he did not exhibit any of his works at the Central Exhibition. He is a Japanese painter.
