Diplomystus is an extinct genus of freshwater clupeomorph fish distantly related to modern-day extant herrings, alewives, and sardines.
Many details like fish bones, fins, head, mouth , eyes, are all conserved.
The genus was first named and described by WOODWARD, 1895.
A combination of natural preservation and skilled preparation brings these prehistoric waters to life in a piece that's sure to be a conversation starter.
What makes this one notable is that the specimens have been preserved with much soft tissues.
Plate is 39 x 15 cm
