Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold.. This bible is in nicely used but nevertheless reasonable good condition, with some of the beautiful golden finish left- it is named to Bert W Webster, who enlisted in 1943/1944 with service number 36881765, and was hospitalized numerous times during his service (See attached screenshots). He served as a diver / in the transportation corps and passed away in 2004 (see attached digital research). This would be a great item for additional research. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''May the Lord be With you'' - A really nice slightly used bible; a very nice 100% original item for your US WW2 collection; will for sure be a centerpiece in your collection!
