In Japan both silver and black models are SL-1200. A step down transformer 110->100V is provided for use in the US. For countries with 220V a step down transformer 220->100V is required (not provided). The MK5 was the last model from the previous generation produced for the market outside Japan. It has many improvements and refinements compared to MK2 (increased range of anti-skating, lack of 0 crossing quartz lock for better pitch control, spare cartridge holder, Incandescent light bulb, removable lid) and it was the last 1200 model to retain an analog pitch control.
